BRAVES MICHAEL HARRIS II HIGHLIGHTS ATL ROOTS IN NEW BALANCE AD

“Atlanta athletes are just a different breed.” Michael Harris II, CF, Atlanta Braves

ATL is the current epicenter of Black baseball. Countless Black players have either grown up or developed their skills in the A, the Reds Will Benson, A’s Lawrence Bulter, and Rays Taj Bradley, to name a few. But the mild-mannered – somewhat unlikely hero that is ushering in this new wave of current and future pros is the 2022 NL Rookie of the Year, Michael Harris II. The New Balance athlete visits his old stomping grounds in his latest commercial, “More Than a Pastime,” where he and his loved one talk about Money Mike’s love affair with the City that raised him. And what it means to represent Atlanta playing for the Braves.

Growing baseball to a more diverse audience takes a lot of effort. Salute to New Balance for their vision in this ad. It is a fitting tribute to Mike, his loved ones, and the exploding baseball culture in ATL.
