PHARRELL’S BBC SPICED UP THE SUBWAY SERIES WITH A NEW CAPSULE

It only took about 2 and half years of planning, but the Billionaire Boys Club X Yankees limited-edition capsule hit the streets this week. And Baseball Hypebest rejoiced. Virginia’s own Pharrell was in the Bronx Monday to launch the capsule and throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium.

The capsule consists of a denim OG fitted hat, a Stadium Satin Jacket, t-shirts, and sweatpants. The Stadium Satin Jacket stands out with Yankees detailing on the chest and arm, the Yankees patch, a co-branded graphic astronaut on the back, and the phrase “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not the pocket” on the right chest.

Very much like Drake’s 2015 album, if you’re reading it’s too late. With its launch on Monday, the special-edition line’s items became available for purchase at various locations in Yankee Stadium. In addition to its presence at the BBC’s flagship store locations in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood, Miami, London and Tokyo, and the company’s online store at bbcicecream.com. But trust me, it’s pretty much all gone now. That OG Diem hat is $75 (some sizes still available) and the BBC X Yankees is $60.

The novelty items included a retro-inspired bobblehead ($100), a ceramic Yankees helmet bowl, and a ceramic NYC bodega-style coffee cup.

With so much division in the Bronx this week, it’s nice to see people unite over their love of Pharrell and his contributions to the culture. The Bombers took both games of the short two-game series with the score being 4-2 in both outings. Judge hit another bomb too; number 48.
