E-40 is a true Bay-area hip-hop legend. The dude has been in the game since the early 90s. And has transformed his music, swag, language, and game into mythical status. How exactly? E-40’s success is a testament to hard work, consistency, and loyalty. The year was 1995 when I first heard “Sprinkle Me” featuring Sugar T. It was definitely a catchy track; it didn’t sound like anything I’d ever heard before — especially living in Virginia. Never in my life could I’d imagine we’d be here over 25 years later. Real talk tho, E-40 was a Bay legend, and a dude you didn’t play with even back in the 90s, ask Biggie Smalls (RIP).
Yesterday was officially E-40 day at Oracle Park. He threw out the first pitch. He performed one of his biggest hit “Tell Me When to Go” between innings, and fans were treated to E-40 bobbleheads.
The bobbleheads are already instant classics. They look amazing. As a true hip-hop fan, this may be the greatest hip-hop bobblehead in the history of the game. E-40 is the Bay, and this is such a fitting tribute.
