This week marks the 2nd annual Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU all-star game, presented by the Henry Louis Aaron Fund. The game is a chance for the top 50 HBCU players to show their skills in front of MLB scouts. The entire experience seems like a dream come true for some of the top Black players attending HBCUs.
I think experiences like this are precisely what Black baseball needs to grow the game at every level. The three-day gathering is taking place at Atlanta’s Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves. It features a youth clinic, panels, a home run derby, and, of course, the all-star game.
There are many aspects of this week that look absolutely stunning from afar, but here at the Black Baseball Mixtape (BBM), we care a lot about the gear. That’s right — the swag, the uniforms. Adidas hooked these all-stars up. Shout out to Adidas for being a major part of the experience. Check out the unis, and the kicks. The uniforms — from top to bottom — are so well done. Great job all around.
Please follow @MBPTakeover or MinorityBaseball.com for more information and photos of the game.
Next year…I need some press credentials. BBM is brand new today, but I’m all in.
