Last season, I organized a baseball trip with my son that included Camden Yards and Nationals Park. We researched our driving route, hotels, getting to the ballpark early, merch, food, and for me, beer. I’m not a huge beer drinker, but I know what I like: and I like “Steady Eddie IPA” from UNION Craft Brewing.
I didn’t go to the ballpark thinking I was going to drink several Steady Eddie IPA,s but that’s precisely what happened. The first thing that grabs you is the can design. The design is flawless. It features a late 70s/early 80s drawn image of the Hall of Famer: Afro in full bloom. Along with Murray’s tremendous stats: 3,255 hits, 504 HR, 19 Grand Slams. The colorways on the can are perfect. And the beer is delicious: 3 Malts: Pale Ale, Wheat, and Honey Malt, 3 Hops: Green Bullet, Azaaca, and Sorachi Ace. 7% ABV. It was the perfect IPA for a summer game. Great work to UNION Craft Brewing in Baltimore.
We’re already planning a more extensive east coast baseball trip in 2023. I’ll be looking for more beer that hits a home run with the Black Baseball Mixtape.
